LPIA is raising funds to help fix a horrible situation. This gentleman called us for help with his dogs. He took in a pregnant female that had been dumped a couple of years ago. She had 13 puppies. He uses all of his disability money for dogfood. He has no money to S/N or properly care for all of the dogs. LPIA removed 9 puppies and one mom from the property.  Appointments have been made to s/n the rest.  While we were there a severely injured dog walked up.  The owner said he had been attacked a week before by several coyotes.  The wounds were becoming infected.  Maggots had even begun to live in the open wounds.  We immediately rushed him to the vet.  LPIA is raising funds to help pay his unexpected vet bills. This is Smokey at the Emergency Vet.  He is all cleaned up and fighting for his life.  It appears he has sepsis.  Most likely the maggots in the open wounds made the infection get into his bloodstream.
